Drive Requirements for Centre Pivot Irrigation
Centre pivot irrigation systems use gear reducers to drive the tower wheels, moving the irrigation structure slowly around a central pivot. The drive requires a high reduction ratio for very low output speed, high torque to move the towers and sprinkler pipeline, and resistance to outdoor conditions. Irrigation reducers commonly use worm or helical gearing with protection against water and dust ingress.

Drive Characteristics of Hose Reel Irrigators
Hose reel irrigators use a gear reducer to rewind the polyethylene (PE) hose. Resistance to back-driving is relevant to preventing unintended reel reversal when input power stops. During retrieval, terrain changes can cause load fluctuations, so the reducer also requires suitable overload capacity.
Irrigation Applications in the Middle East and Africa
Agricultural areas in Egypt’s Nile Delta, oasis farming in Saudi Arabia and irrigation projects in Kenya create continuing demand for reliable equipment. SANYOO’s irrigation products are designed for agricultural duty, with optimised sealing and corrosion protection. Material selection and sealing address both water ingress in rainy tropical climates and dust-related wear in sandy environments in the Middle East.
