R Series Helical Gear Reducer Selection Guide for Power, Torque and Mounting

Key R Series Specifications

The R series has a power range of 0.09–160 kW, a gear ratio range of 1.62–27,000 and an output torque range of 85–18,000 N·m. Its coaxial design provides compact dimensions and high efficiency. Transmission efficiency is at least 92%, with operating noise levels of 65–75 dB.

Materials and Manufacturing Processes

R series housings use HT250 grey cast iron or QT500/QT600 ductile iron. The gears are made from 20CrMnMo alloy steel, carburised, hardened and ground, achieving gear accuracy grade 6 and a tooth surface hardness of 58–62 HRC. Bearing options include HRB, ZWZ, LYC, NSK and SKF; oil seal options include SKF, NOK, SOG, CTY and NAK. These components form part of the product’s reliability specification.

Technical Selection Considerations

Begin by identifying the machine’s load characteristics. Continuous-duty equipment, such as conveyors, and intermittent-duty equipment, such as cranes, impose different demands on gearbox thermal capacity and fatigue life. The required service factor increases from uniform loads to moderate shock loads and then to heavy shock loads. Select a suitable R series gear ratio using the required output speed and torque, together with the motor pole count.
